Ahmedabad: A bomb threat received on a flight arriving in Ahmedabad from London caused significant commotion at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. A threatening letter was found in the flight’s lavatory, claiming that the aircraft would be blown up within the next two hours. Upon discovery of the letter, airport security agencies immediately went on high alert.
Following the alert, the Bomb Disposal Squad, local police, and other security agencies swiftly reached the airport. Security teams conducted a thorough search of the aircraft and its surroundings. All passengers were safely evacuated from the plane, after which a detailed inspection of the aircraft was carried out.
After several hours of intensive searching, the security teams found no suspicious objects or bombs. Eventually, it was confirmed that the threat was merely a hoax, bringing a sigh of relief to the security agencies.
Currently, the airport police have initiated the process of registering a case in this matter. The police are now investigating who placed the threatening letter and with what intention. It is worth noting that Ahmedabad Airport has witnessed similar false bomb threats in the past. For instance, in February 2025, a note stating “bomb is here” was found on an IndiGo flight arriving from Jeddah to Ahmedabad. That threat also turned out to be false after investigation.
Following this incident, security arrangements at the airport have been further tightened. Police are also intensifying their efforts to identify the individual or group responsible for these false threats. Such incidents inevitably create an atmosphere of fear among passengers, but the prompt action of security agencies has prevented any major harm. Police are currently gathering more details about the incident and have appealed to the public to refrain from spreading or believing in rumors.
